LaTrica E. Dendy

LaTrica was an outstanding middle distance runner for Howard. She had indoor personal bests in the 800m of 2:17.83 and the 1600m of 5:14.49. She also ran on the Howard 4 x 400m relay team which ran 4:06.77. She won the 1988 Division II cross country state title. LaTrica was a four-time indoor National All-American, once in the 800m run, once in the mile run, and twice in the 4 x 400m relay. She won eleven gold medals at state championships including a four-time champion in the 800m and 1600m.

While attending UNLV she earned All American status as well as All Conference in events ranging from the 400m hurdles to cross country. Her personal bests while a Running Rebel were: 17:15 in the 5k, 5:02 mile, 4:37 1,500 2:04 800m, and :56.07 400m hurdle.

LaTrica has extended her career and success beyond the boundaries of age. As a Masters athlete, LaTrica currently holds the American Record holder for w35 indoor 400m 56.46, outdoor 400m 55.35, and 400m hurdle 1:01.19. In October of this year, LaTrica traveled to Brazil as a member of the USA Masters Worlds team where she earned three Gold and two Silver medals, winning w40 400m with a time of 57.00. At the 2013 WMA's, she also earned Silver medals in both the 200m and 400m hurdles. LaTrica anchored the US Gold medal winning 4x 400 and 4x100 meter relays earning a total of 5 medals. In 2009 and 2011, LaTrica was named Masters Athlete of the year by the United States Track and Field Association.
