Aysha Gregory is a distinguished track and field athlete whose career has been marked by an impres-sive blend of power, speed, and leadership. Aysha began competing in age group track with USA Track & Field, AAU Track & Field and the Colgate Women’s Games in New York City, and consistently ranked nationally in the Shot Put and Discus for her age groups. At the Colgate Women’s Games as a 6th grad-er Aysha won the middle school division throwing a high school shot put and was awarded the “Most Promising Newcomer” award. She went on the hold the middle school division title in the shot put in 7th and 8th grade and set a new middle school record.
A standout at Brandywine High School, Aysha was awarded the prestigious “B Award” in 2004 for her exceptional sportsmanship, leadership, and athletic ability, highlighting her impact both on and off the field. Throughout her high school career, Aysha earned a remarkable seven 1st Team All-State honors in track and field. She uniquely combined her strengths as a sprinter and shot putter, dominating the field events. She consistently clinched first place in nearly every competition and broke the state, school and meet records time after time.
In addition to her shot-put achievements, Aysha made her mark in the sprints, placing third in the 100-meter dash at the 2004 D1 State Track & Field Championships and seventh at the Meet of Champions. And running on championship relays in the 4×100 and 4×200. Her versatility also shone through in the discus, where she secured several top finishes.
Aysha continued her athletic journey at the University of Maryland, where she further distinguished herself by breaking Maryland’s Hammer Throw record with a remarkable toss of 185’6” feet at the Duke Invitational Meet in 2008. Aysha was recognized as a scholar athlete all 4 years at Maryland and named a Team Captain her senior year.
