Sally Andersen Willig

Hall of Fame induction: 2011

Sally was an outstanding hurdler at Brandywine H.S. and in 1979, she won the 100m hurdles at the state division II championship and won the same event at the Meet of Champions. That same year Sally won the 100m hurdles and the 400m dash at the county meet. In 1983 while attending Princeton, she ran in the NCAA 400m intermediate hurdles finishing ninth in a time of :58.19, a time that remains the Princeton record. She won six Heptagonal championships, sweeping both the 100m and 400m hurdle events in 1980 and 1981. Later, at the TAC Championships, she ran :58.71 in the semi-finals, just missing qualification for the finals. She won the von Kienbusch Award for the top senior sportswoman at Princeton. In 1984 she competed in the Olympic Trials running :58.42 in the 400m hurdles.
