Brieanna Kennedy MuseHall of Fame induction: 2024

One of the nation’s top throws prospects for the Class of 2008 . Wrapped up her high school career at Caravel Academy as a 16-time Junior Olympic All-American and a two-time high school All-American.

Set her personal best in the javelin with a silver-medal winning performance at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in 2006.

Her personal best in the javelin ranked No. 8 in the United States by a high school girl in 2006. Followed by winning another silver medal in the event at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in 2007.

Set a meet record of 146-5 in winning the young women’s javelin title at the 2007 USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships in Walnut, Calif.

Also won the Junior Olympic title in the young women’s discus in 2007 with her personal best of 149-3. Was the first Delaware female title winner from the state when she won the javelin at the historic Penn Relays.

Won a total of eight state titles in the discus and shot put during her high school career. Was the Dela-ware high school state record holder in both the shot put and discus at the time she signed with the Lady Tigers.

Wrapped up her collegiate career ranked among the premier throwers in the history of the Lady Tiger program at Louisiana State University.

Was the No. 2-ranked hammer thrower in school history with a personal record of 205 feet, 3 inches. Was the No. 3-ranked weight thrower in school history after setting a PR of 61-9 ½ indoors as a senior in 2012.

Claimed All-SEC honors during her senior season with a runner-up finish in the hammer throw at the 2012 SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at LSU’s Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Scored 23 points for the Lady Tigers in SEC competition during her four-year collegiate career. Was a two-time NCAA semifinalist in the hammer throw in 2011 and 2012. Finished as high as 13th place nationally in the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll four-straight seasons from 2009-12. Graduated from LSU in May, 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and obtained a second Bachelor’s degree from LSU Health Science’s in May 2016 with a degree in nursing.
