Louis Olivere

Hall of Fame induction: 2010

Lou is one of the great coaches in the history of Delaware high schools. He had twelve division two outdoor track & field championship teams, including ten in a row, at Ursuline. He coached six division two state championships cross country teams at Ursuline with five of them coming consecutively. He also coached the Salesianum boys to two state indoor titles. He was honored with Coach of the Year awards once in cross country, once in indoor track & field and five times in outdoor track & field.

Since retiring from coaching in 2002, Lou has continued involvement with Track and Field through administration of the DIAA Track and Field Championship Meets. Additionally, he has served as coordinator of the Diocese of Wilmington CYM Cross Country and Track and Field Program for over 23 year.Lou continues involvement with the N5CTA helping to promote completion in the many events sponsored by that organization. He also serves as a track and field official with the Delaware Sports Club and is a member of the DIAA Track and Field Committee serving as its Rules Interpreter.
